artist photoPhilip McCobb's artistic passion started when he moved to Yokohama, Japan and began to gain his artistic style from Japanese comics and cartoons. The bold graphics and use of movement within the illustrations strongly influenced his style today. His relocation to Rome, Italy, proved to be a fortuitous move for a budding artist. Philip had the unique chance to see the actual pieces, walk where the artists lived, and feel their inspiration. This experience led Philip to his passion for art history. Using historical references and actual people for his subjects is still a practice he relies on today.

The knowledge and influences of great artists is easily visible within his illustrations and compositions. Philip moved to New York City to study at the School of Visual Arts, where the main practice is to teach students how to implement & harness creativity. It was there that he truly learned about idea-making and he still implements contemporary design techniques taught by leading American designers into all his designs.

Now being settled in California, Philip has come a long way in this rich and diverse business. After many years, drawing inspiration from the pulse of cities, working and honing his craft to a unique, cutting edge style, Philip continues to strive for excellence and enjoys a challenge.
